Ahn Eun-jin wanted to become an actress when she was 17, but had to work hard to convince her mother who was against it. We’re glad she did, as we can’t imagine anyone else in the role of Yulje Hospital’s lovable Dr. “Chuchu,” the other half of the “Gom-gom (Bear-Bear) Couple” with Kim Dae-myung.
Prior to the beloved slice-of-life/medical drama Hospital Playlist, Ahn worked as a musical theater actress ever since making her stage debut in 2012. K-drama fans got a glimpse of her singing talent from her guest appearance in the 2021 fantasy web series The Witch’s Diner.
She also played supporting roles in the medical drama Life (2018), historical dramas The Crowned Clown and Kingdom (2019), and legal drama Diary of a Prosecutor (2019).
Having proven she is leading lady material, Ahn Eun-jin was cast as the terminally-ill Pyo In-sook in the female-centric JTBC melodrama The One and Only alongside Kim Kyung-nam, Kang Ye-won, and Park Soo-young (Red Velvet’s Joy). She then worked on her first major feature film, the historical thriller The Night Owl starring Ryu Jun-yeol and Yoo Hae-jin. A commercial and critical hit, it recently won Best Film at the 59th Baeskang Arts Awards, with Ahn earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination.
Fans of this talented actress can watch her as the highly-spirited nail artist Lee Mi-joo in JTBC’s The Good Bad Mother alongside Lee Do-hyun (The Glory) and Ra Mi-ran, which currently streams on Netflix.
She's currently raking in good reviews and ratings opposite Namgoong Min in the period romance My Dearest.
