From K-pop idol to award-winning actress Bae Suzy has worn many hats in South Korean entertainment. Known for her stunning visuals, multifaceted talents, and down-to-earth personality, Suzy is a force to be reckoned with. With a decade-long career that spans music, television, and film, she has proven time and again that she's more than just a pretty face.
Born on October 10, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea, Bae Suzy first rose to fame as a member of the girl group Miss A under JYP Entertainment. While her musical career was thriving, her allure and charisma caught the eyes of casting directors, leading her to explore a new career path in acting.
Suzy made her acting debut with a small role in the high school drama "Dream High" (2011), but it wasn't long before she landed leading roles. She then began to blossom as an actress in the historical fantasy drama "Gu Family Book" (2013), where she portrayed a resolute innkeeper's daughter. Her next hit was "While You Were Sleeping" (2017), a legal drama with supernatural elements. Here, she captivated audiences by portraying a young woman who can see the future through her dreams.
In "Vagabond" (2019), Suzy showcased her action sequences and handled a complex storyline with aplomb. Her role in "Start-Up" (2020) had her step into the role of an aspiring entrepreneur, further demonstrating her versatility as an actress. Her solo turn in Amazon’s “Anna” had her playing a professional liar to much critical acclaim. It seems that her star turn in the upcoming “Doona” will make her star even brighter, if that were even possible.
Some of her famous dramas include:

“Anna” (2022)
Watch on Amazon (we recommend the director’s cut with 8 episodes)
Bae Suzy portrays the title role of Lee Anna, a blue-collar worker who lies her way into a new life. The series explores her journey as she dodges the consequences of her pathological lying and the challenges of living a completely different life.
At only twenty-six years old, Suzy has made it big and reached the heights of fame many of her peers can only dream of. But that’s only because this indefatigable girl group member turned actress has been hustling in the entertainment industry since she was 15! While Suzy’s ship has undoubtedly come in for her, there is still an ocean of opportunities in store for this young and talented artist.
In the upcoming 9-episode Netflix series "Doona," Bae Suzy will play Lee Doo-Na, a former K-pop idol who suddenly steps back from her career and seeks solitude in a shared living space near a university. A college freshman, Lee Won-jun (Yang Se-jong), suddenly discovers he lives near the famed idol. But could a romance ever be in the cards for two people who live entirely different lives?
The series is adapted from the popular Korean webtoon, "The Girl Downstairs" by Min Song-ah.
Bae Suzy's journey from a K-pop star to an accomplished actress is a testament to her talent and work ethic. With each new role, she pushes the boundaries of what she can achieve, leaving fans and critics eagerly awaiting her next project.
It seems that this “Nation’s First Love” will be its forever love.
