Jo Jung-suk / Cho Jung-seuk (조정석)

The actor has long been an incredible charmer, and we k-drama fans who have watched his work over the years can attest to how drawn we are to his cheerful eyes and wonderful comedic timing. He started his career as a musical theater actor in 2004, and has since appeared in more than 25 musicals and plays, showcasing his versatile performing skills.



He debuted in film with a splash in 2012’s hit Architecture 101, and since then, he has starred in a variety of films and dramas. From playing a lusty newlywed in My Love, My Bride, a rock climber in the disaster comedy film Exit, a stoic chef in Oh My Ghost, and a breast cancer patient in Jealousy Incarnate, the actor has just gone from strength to strength, proving that he’s got serious talent under that charismatic façade.



In 2020, he starred in the medical drama Hospital Playlist, where he played a hepatologist and a member of a band with his four best friends. The drama was a huge success and showcased his musical talents, sometimes singing for the soundtrack.



Not only is Jo a talented actor but he’s also known to be a loving husband and father. He married singer Gummy in 2018, after dating for five years. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2020.



With his impressive resume and undeniable charisma, Jo Jung-suk stands as one of the most respected and loved actors in the Korean entertainment industry. He continues to challenge himself and explore new roles and genres while maintaining his passion and professionalism. Currently, he stars in the political historical drama Captivating the King where he dons royal robes as a mad king.
