Kim Hye-yoon’s breakout performance as a villainous overachieving student in the 2019 megahit drama SKY Castle was so convincing that it was hard to imagine her in any cute or romantic roles afterwards.

And yet, this young and talented actress did just that, portraying a comic book extra out to change her "fate" in the fantasy rom-com Extraordinary You later that same year.
Prior to her big year, Kim Hye-yoon had actually appeared in 26 dramas since she started acting at the age of 16 in 2013. Many of her roles were nameless or as the teenage versions of female characters, as she focused on her studies as a film major on full scholarship at the prestigious Konkuk University.
Kim Hye-yoon starred in the comedy sageuk (historical show) Secret Royal Inspector and Joy with 2PM’s Ok Taec-yeon. She later appeared in Snowdrop, a drama set in the 1980s led by Jung Hae-in and Blackpink's Jisoo.
She starred opposite Byeon Woo-seok in the time-slip romance series Lovely Runner which recently wrapped up its successful run as this year's biggest sleeper hit.
