There’s not much in the English-speaking media about K-drama veteran Kim Mi-kyung and yet you would be hard-pressed to find a K-drama fan who DOESN’T know her. With more than 70 dramas and almost 30 years of experience under her belt, Kim Mi-kyung can rightfully let her work do the talking for her. She debuted in the 1993 drama Love is Helpless and has released at least one drama a year without fail since 2002.

Younger audiences will recognize her playing supporting roles in such fan favorites as Healer (2014), where she plays an eccentric hacker and It’s Okay, That’s Love (2014), where she plays a woman having a longtime affair.
But mostly, she found her way into the hearts of worldwide audiences by playing a mother in such dramas as Go Back Couple (2017), 20th Century Boy and Girl (2017), Introverted Boss (2017), Her Private Life (2019), Hi Bye, Mama (2020), 18 Again (2020), and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (2020).
For her role as Jung Yu-mi’s mother in the critically acclaimed film Kim Ji-young: Born 1982, she won Best Supporting Actress in the Chunsa Film Art Awards, Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, and the Golden Cinema Film Festival, and was nominated for a Baeksang Arts Award.
