It's not easy to play a much beloved character in one drama and then turn to play an utterly reprehensible one in the next, but Lee Yoo-mi has managed to pull them both off memorably. As a naive player in Squid Game and a selfish classmate in All of Us Are Dead, she's easily made her mark on international audiences. Even with only a brief appearance in Squid Game, she's been nominated for a Primetime Emmy acting award.

People say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but those people have obviously never met Lee. Lightning already struck when she debuted in the Na Hong-jin thriller The Yellow Sea with superstar Ha Jung-woo in 2010. She then built a slow but steady portfolio of film and k-drama roles, starring in Voice 2, Doctor John, 365: Repeat the Year until lightning struck again when she played the troubled Ji-young (Player 240) in Squid Game. Lightning then struck for the third time when All of Us Are Dead propelled her again to even bigger heights. And it seems lightning will keep striking this lucky and hardworking girl as she earned critical acclaim as the lead in the lauded film Young Adult Matters and even won awards for acting alongside superstar Hwang Jung-min in 2021's Hostage: Missing Celebrity.
Lee's luck galvanized her as an in-demand actress after starring in Strong Girl Nam-soon, which is the follow-up show to the highly successful Strong Woman Do Bong-soon.
