Netflix announced that it will stream Lovely Runner, the time-travel romance hit of the year, on August 1, 2024.

Adapted from Kim Bbang’s web novel, The Best of Tomorrow, the fantasy series follows Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon) who travels back in time to 2008 to save her idol, Ryu Sun-jae (Byeon Woo-seok). According to its scriptwriter Lee Si-eun, Lovely Runner attempts to answer the question: “What would you do if you had the opportunity to save your ultimate bias?”
Despite the tvN romance k-drama suffering from several setbacks before airing, it went on to become a huge fan favorite. On its sixth week of broadcast, it became the most viewed in 130 regions and ranked first for six consecutive weeks in 109 countries in the streaming platform Rakuten Viki.
TVING, the tvN over-the-top (OTT) platform, also reported 2,500,010 viewing hours, surpassing Netflix's 2,408,179 hours by 3.6%, after airing Lovely Runner. This marked the first time ever the South Korean platform overtook Netflix on this metric.
