Shin Se-kyung’s charm lies in her ability to make any character she plays seem down-to-earth and completely relatable. Perhaps this is because of the level of comfort she has performing for others. She has, after all, been in the entertainment industry since she was 8 years old!

Although, it wasn’t until eleven years after her debut before she became a household name with her role in High Kick through the Roof (2009). Her following string of projects wasn’t all smooth sailing, however.
She landed high-profile projects like the film Hindsight (2011), the drama Tree with Deep Roots (2011), and the film R2B: Return to Base (2012). On the contrary, her drama Fashion King (2012) did very poorly, and she received some criticism for her role in When a Man Falls in Love (2013).
This did not stop Shin Se-kyung from perfecting her craft. And by 2015 onwards, she had found her footing with her leading roles in The Girl Who Sees Smells (2015), The Bride of Habaek (2017), Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung (2019), and Run On (2021).
Shin Se-kyung also sings and models, and signed up to join IU’s agency. She runs a YouTube channel with more than a million subscribers and gives some proceeds to charity.
Already an industry veteran at 34, Shin Se-kyung still has a long and promising career ahead of her.
