Woo Do-hwan (우도환)

In the 2019 movie The Divine Fury, Woo Do-hwan plays a demon who takes the form of a sleek club owner. With his fast cars, bemused eyes, immaculate suits, and sardonic expression, Woo is every inch the darkly beautiful Luciferian figure your mother and the entire church warned you about, but you gladly defy anyway.

Much of Woo's reputation may have grown largely due to his comic turn as both the loyal Corean Captain Jo Young and his lovable mediocre twin from an alternate universe in 2020's The King: Eternal Monarch. But his fans have enjoyed watching his darker and sultrier side way before he became Lee Gon's most trusted aide. From being the skilled but idealistic warrior in 2019's My Country: The New Age where he generously showed off his incredible body, to his cold tsundere appeal as the lead seducer in 2018's Tempted, to his sexy street savvy in 2017's Mad Dog, Woo has never really played it safe or cute for long. He's also paid his dues in the business, having worked under some of the industry's biggest names (with Lee Byung-hun in Master and Yoo Ji-tae in Mad Dog). This is an actor who knows his own faculties and does not balk at delivering the physicality and the emotional heft when the role demands it. We can only hope to see more of him — especially his darker side — soon.

He will reprise his role alongside Lee Sang-yi in the sequel to the Netflix crime action series Bloodhounds.
