Meet the Gwenchanoonas

Barrio Chaebol
1. Stuck-on-an-island k-drama: Getting stuck on a desert island is already stressful. I’d lean into the situation even more by rewatching my favorite stressor: The World of the Married (2020).
2. Gateway k-drama: 2016’s Descendants of the Sun. I knew nothing about k-dramas at that time, but that Song-Song chemistry was fascinating enough to suck me into the rabbithole.
3. Favorite genres: Heavy, difficult stuff. Slice-of-life dramas that deal with a lot of han, or the Korean sense of unrequited resentment. I also have an odd fascination for makjang (ultra-exaggerated dramas about horrible rich people).
